From Leaf Detectives to Mini Abseilers

After the disappointment of missing last week's forest session it was so lovely to return to the forest again on such a beautiful spring day.
On our walk into our base we became leaf detectives. We found four trees (Oak, Sycamore, Ash and Beech) to name, talk about and make a tally of on our detective sheets. Hopefully your little detective has their sheet squirreled away in their forest back pack. After all that brain power it was time to exercise our muscles. We tied a rope to a tree,  abseiled down, and pulled ourselves back up again. Everyone wanted a turn and most of us came back for more. We all really impressed each other with our skills and there was lots of clapping and cheering each other on. After a snack we made a new forest friend with the natural materials available. He has feathers for eyebrows, bark for a tummy and a very unbrushed leafy hairstyle! Later others made a forest butterfly, went for a ride on a tree trunk van and played cafe in a forest den. Just another busy morning at Forest School!
We were happy with the way the new drop off and pick up went this week. Please let us know your thoughts.
