Forest Graduation - 10th July 2013

We had such a busy final session in the Forest,  I hope there is space to write it all down!
We began with a  chat about textures and using our touch sense to find out more about natural materials. By the time we found Rosy hiding in the forest we had collected bumpy, smooth, spikey, soft and feathery objects. We are so clever with our descriptive language now.  Libby taught us how to make a fire and for snack we melted marshmellows around it! We were really good about walking around the outside of our sitting area to keep ourselves a safe distance from the fire. Later we read the lovely Julia Donaldson story ‘Stick Man’. It inspired some of us to make our own stick people that many of the children later came home with. During lunch we had a ‘Graduation Ceremony’ for our Forest Schoolers. We clapped each other, shook hands and received our well earned Forest Certificates.

Goodbye and thankyou to those of you who are leaving Forest PreSchool. For those staying, see you at Forest PreSchool in October!.
